Birmingham in West Midlands

The city of Birmingham, as the second largest city in England, is also one of the most culturally diverse. The growth of the town into an industrial city made it one of England’s economic boomtowns in the industrial era. Now the city has settled into expanding its cultural horizons. The city is home to the University of Birmingham, the International Convention Center, a thriving nightclub scene, many jewelry companies as well as many historical museums. This vibrant culture-filled city also has a six-and-a-half acre nature reserve and a fifteen-acre botanical garden.
For the art lover, Birmingham’s Museum and Art Gallery has what is considered to be the most comprehensive collection of Pre-Raphaelite works in the world and many of Burne-Jones’s works. The museum has a varied collection including Egyptian mummies, various dinosaurs, including the T. Rex, and a wonderfully decorated Edwardian Tea room.
