Aberdeen in Aberdeenshire

ABERDEEN the “Granite City” so called because of the granite in the beautiful buildings. Such a pleasant city with street markets and shopping centres. The fish market is situated at the harbour as well as the Maritime Museum depicting scenes from shipwrecks, fishing, shipbuildings and showing you the workings of the local oil fields. Aberdeen is the third largest city in Scotland and has many oil fields, the oil industry having commenced in 1972. Aberdeen is the largest holiday resort in Scotland with two miles of clean sandy beach.
