Helensburgh in Dumbartonshire

HELENSBURGH situated on the Gareloch, home to a very popular sport, sailing. The town of Helensburgh has a pleasant shopping centre, sit by the loch and gaze over to the Rosneath Peninsula, take a drive round the loch going through many pleasant villages such as Rhu, Garelochead, Clynder, Rosneath and round the point into Kilcreggan. There are pubs and places to stop along the way, with the glorious scenery. Go back to Garelochead and up into the hills on your way to Long Long and Arrochar the first village to be dominated by the crags of the Arrochar Alps. Follow the map through to Lochgoilhead, often missed by tourists on their way to Inverary, Lochgoilhead is well known for it’s water sports, particularly water ski-ing.
