FERMANAGH has 70km of lakes linked to the Shannon system in the Irish Republic, via the Shannon-Erne Waterway canal making the entire system the longist navigable waterway in Europe. Fishing is a popular sport, by the expert and even the beginner, from pike, bream, roach, to trout and salmon, take your pick!
Hire a cruiser and use the access to the lakes and waterways, there are organized trips . Marble Arch Caves, another attraction with its subterranean lake, stalactites and stalagmites, Northern Ireland’s only underground cave system open to the public.
Enniskillen is the main town in County Fermanagh with Enniskillen Castle and its audio/visual programme on the region’s history, archeology and folklore and the Museum of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. Go onto the Buttermarket and admire the Belleek china, knitwear and lace products.
