HILLSBOROUGH is situated 10 miles south of Belfast, Hillsborough House was the former residence of the governors of Northern Ireland. Close by are Georgian townhouses full of antique and craft shops. On the other side of the square is Hillsborough Fort which was used as a Royal Fortress by Charles II . Hillsborough Lake, which is situated in Hillsborough Forest is an ideal spot for a family outing. The lake is stocked with brown and rainbow trout for the fishing enthusiasts whilst the park which is rich in wildlife and scenic walks caters for the rest of the family.
