ABERGAVENNY Museum and Castle is situated in this old market town, the museum takes you through the story of this market town from prehistoric and Roman times through to present day. The ruins of Abergavenny's Norman and medieval castle was the secne of the infamous massacre of the Welsh chieftains in 1175.The castle and grounds have been open to the public since 1881.
