Dartmoor in Devon

Encompassing 368 acres of moorland in the county of Devon, Dartmoor has been a national park in West Country since 1951. A blend of lovely green and brown hues, the moorland features prehistoric remains, slopes crowned by erosion sculpted granite, and trickling streams. Although cottages and white houses sporadically hide behind large oak trees on the moor, Dartmoor’s attractions are mainly comprised of natural sites. Thus, this area is a walker’s delight with fabulous routes from the typical worn-down paths to abandoned cart railways.
