London Transport Museum

This commenced in 1925 when the London General Omnibus Company set up a small collection of omnibuses. The collection was added to over the years until in 1961 the museum of British Transport opened in a disused London Transport garage. From here the collection moved to Syon Park in 1973 and 7 years later it moved to its present premises which are on the ground floor of the hall of the flower market at Covent Garden. On display are horse buses, electric trams, photographs, videos, paintings all of which cover the history of London Transport from the early 19th century up to the modern day underground train system including the first steam-powered underground train. There is a kidzone where a funbus can be enjoyed by the under 5s.
